Управление США по патентам и торговым маркам (USPTO) раскрыло патентную заявку Microsoft на любопытное устройство — док-станцию для цифрового пера.
Документ был подан в USPTO ещё в январе прошлого года, однако опубликовало его ведомство только сейчас. Патентная заявка носит название Stylus And Docking Station With Joystick Function.
Идея заключается в том, чтобы расширить функциональность стилуса, которым оснащаются фаблеты и планшеты. Установив цифровое перо в специальную док-станцию, пользователи смогут превратить его в аналог джойстика.
Система сможет распознавать вращение пера, наклоны в различные стороны, а также нажатия. Таким образом, владельцы мобильных устройств с поддержкой перьевого ввода получат дополнительные возможности по взаимодействию с персональными компьютерами.
Вполне возможно, что патентуемая система будет поддерживаться стилусами Microsoft следующего поколения. Впрочем, сама редмондская корпорация о планах по коммерциализации предложенного решения ничего не сообщает.
